With Allah’s grace and blessings, Friday, August 26, 2016 represents an important and exciting milestone in the development of our institute. Dr. Abu Zayd concluded an accreditation agreement with Shaykh Dr. Waleed Edrees, chancellor of the Islamic University of Minnesota. Dr. Waleed recognized and appreciated the work of the Quran Literacy Institute, and expressed his full support. The terms of the agreement are broadly as follows:
- All of the Quran Literacy Institute courses will be recognized and accredited through the Islamic University of Minnesota.
- The 2-year Diploma of Islamic Literacy offered by the Quran Literacy Institute will be equivalent to the Associates Degree with the Islamic University. Those wishing to complete the Bachelors degree can do so by enrolling in the remaining coursework with the Islamic University.
- Quran Literacy Institute students are encouraged to pursue further studies at all levels with the Islamic University of Minnesota.
- Quran Literacy Institute will explore collaboration options to offer full advanced degree programs of the Islamic University of Minnesota in the future.
