The celebrated Ṣaḥīḥ of Imām Bukhārī is one of the deepest works of our tradition and the soundest work ever produced by man. For over a thousand years, it has been referenced and quoted alongside the Qurʾān by pious Muslims. Yet it remains one of the most misunderstood books in the world, even by Muslims. The challenge is to appreciate the real genius of Bukhārī as he compiled, arranged and organized this astounding work, in order to teach you the entire edifice of Islam. This fall, we continue our study of the first major book, Kitab al-Iman.

We will begin each class with a reading of the Muqaddimah of Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim in order to learn the methodology of ḥadīth sciences.

Prerequisites: This class is for ongoing students who have built a foundation in ḥadīth science through completing Ḥadīth 101, Ḥadīth 102, or our Diploma in Islamic Literacy Program. Interested new students are welcome to join us as guests, and arrangements can be made to complete previous seminars.
