Seminar Intro:
This is a comprehensive, adult-level seminar on the rules of reciting the Qur’ān based upon the textbook Childrens Bequest. This textbook is based upon Tuhfat al Atfal, an Arabic poem that happens to be the most widely used resource for learning Tajweed in the world today. The textbook, authored by our instructor Dr Abu Zayd, is required for this course.
Seminar Logistics:
It consists of 13 lessons over an anticipated 12 weeks— at the Muslim Center of Middlesex County (MCMC) at 1000 Hoes Ln in Piscataway, NJ.
What Makes Our Seminar Unique?
- The seminar incorporates a healthy mix of the three dimensions of Theory (the rules of Tajweed), Practice (the chance to recite and implement the rules) and History (an introduction to the lives of the Ten Imams of Recitation)
- The seminar is based upon our exclusive, propriety textbook Childrens Bequest
- Class instruction via Powerpoint presentations and professional class setup
- We offer a concurrent female instructor (Sumara Khan) to conduct exclusive sisters sessions
- All instructors traditionally licensed with ijāzah linking directly to the Prophet
- Classes part of Quran Literacy Institute, a long-term educational project to help advance the study of the Qur’ān, including granting ijāzah certificates to qualified students
- Babysitting services available on request
We look forward to working with you and embarking on this journey together.
