Join us for an Exploration of the Life of the Prophet, peace be upon him, through a wonderful 100-line poem encapsulating the major events of the Sīrah, compiled by the great Ḥanafī scholar of Damascus Ibn Abī al-ʿIzz (d. 792/1390). With sweet, flowing verses that are easy to memorize, the poem entitled al-Arjūzah al-Mīʾīyah fī Dhikr Ḥāl Ashraf al-Bariyyah is a summary of the Sīrah in the Rajz meter of Arabic poetry. The Rajaz meter in each line follows 6-cycles on the patter of mustafʿilun. We will be relying on Shaykh Waleed Edrees’s commentary on the poem entitled Al-Futūḥāt al-Raḥmāniyyah, published by the Islamic University of Minnesota.
